Children are the most effective agents in reaching their peers with the Gospel L.I.T. May Newsletter

DSC 0580For the believer in Christ, this is not the time to hunker down, it is time to reach out. So many people have no hope. Sales of alcohol and drug abuse is escalating with people seeking comfort from their fears, anxiety and uncertainty. We don’t have to be careless, but we can use social media, a phone call, text or acts of kindness to let people know that we care. We can pray for opportunities to show people God’s love and share the hope we have in Christ. The Gospel is the Gospel and we should want everyone to have the hope we have in the Lord.

I encourage church leaders to light a fire in the hearts of children they are working with to share the Good News of Christ with their friends. Children are the most effective agents in reaching their peers. It’s time to look at the future with excitement. The fields are white unto harvest, and it’s time to rise and bring the hope of the cross of Christ to a lost world.

I recently joined the Go2020 kids ministry team. I began to see a bigger picture of what the Lord is doing around the world through children. One of the leaders shared recently in the meeting that in India alone, there are over 376 million children. Ninety-four percent of those who trust Christ in India do so before they turn 15 years of age. Sadly, he shared that the church invests the majority of their funds on the six percent. The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are not focusing on where the greatest harvest is—children.

Part of the Go2020 movement is to mobilize an estimated 40 million children (with over 100 million total with adults and students) in 140 countries to share the Good News of Christ. Children are joining one of the largest evangelistic efforts in the world, focused on reaching one billion people worldwide starting May 1, 2020, and moving forward throughout the year. It is not a time to hide out at home, but a time to celebrate what the Lord is doing around the world and join Him in this tremendous time of harvest. Everyone, including children, are called to share the Good News. Pray for God’s wisdom on how you might join this movement. We are all in!

Be sure to check out the Go2020 website at www.go2020.world. Thank you for your continued prayers and support.

Blessings,

Surprised by The Holy Spirit Working in Children

Did you know that the Holy Spirit works in children too? We have witnessed Him moving in and through them for the past 18 years in ways that have amazed many leaders within the body of Christ. When you hear a child walk up duringDSC 4594 a mission trip testimony time and say, “I was really scared today and I prayed. When I got up to teach something came over me. I don’t know what it was, but God powerfully spoke through me.” We have heard similar testimonies more than we can count.

Have you ever heard a child say, “When I was teaching today at the apartment complex, I felt something like fire going through me.” This same eleven years lead seven children including four teenagers to Christ. Jesus tells us in Acts 1:8 that, “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” This verse is all-inclusive for all believers—especially children. They should not be the focus of our ministry; they are in ministry with us, and by training and releasing them, they will experience the power of the Holy Spirit as they share the message of the Gospel with the world. These little warriors are ready; they just need to be trained and released.

Empowering Kids Online Training Update

We are excited about what the Lord is doing through our Empowering Kids online training. It was a joy seeing new leaders joining us to learn how to disciple and equip children for ministry. We have 39 leaders sign up so far for our next training event May 14th.  We are helping leaders gain fresh vision for children’s ministry. Click here for more information.

Prayer Needs:

  • For the Lord to light a fire in the heart of our leaders, to cast an exciting vision with the children, they are working with to reach their friends and families with the Gospel.
  • Pray for the thousands of children we have trained over the past eighteen years to rise up and share the Good News of Christ in the United States and International.
  • Pray for wisdom for our summer mission trip scheduled the last of June. We are waiting on the decision by state and local officials.
  • For God’s provision for L.I.T. Ministries. Due to the economic shutdown, it has caused some financial difficulties.
