Preteen Led Three Generations To Christ
"FEARLESS" L.I.T. MISSION TRIP
Years ago when I served on staff at Wedgwood Baptist Church, there were banners at each exit door with the verse, “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Jude and Samaria, and to the end of the earth” (Acts 1:8). At the time, I did not think about how that applied to children. I first witnessed kids being empowered by the Holy Spirit in 2004 on my first L.I.T. mission trip. From that day forward, I started videotaping and documenting what I observed. Here are a few testimonies from fifth graders of the Holy Spirit’s amazing work in the lives of preteens from multiple churches:
“When I went up to share my testimony today, I was scared stiff. I was saying, ‘Oh God, oh God, please help me.’ I said something, and I don't have any idea what I said, but God moved in a powerful way.” (Jordan, 11 years old)
“About two minutes before I was going to share my testimony, God gives me a tap on my shoulder and says, ‘No, that's not your testimony; it's mine.’ So I go up there, and I have no clue what I am going to say. But I start talking. God basically said what I was going to say, but He helped me use props, which I had never done before. I thought that was kind of cool. It was really cool for God to speak directly to you and have Him speak to your heart. The kids took it really well because it was a message straight from God.”
“I was speaking today, and I was saying, ‘Ah, ah, what,’ and then later on, I surrendered. The Holy Spirit came over me, and I sat down my book and said what was in the book from memory. Then they all latched on.” (Josh, 12 years old)
"This is what happened last night when we were praying for the lost countries (countries in the 10-40 Window). While I was praying, I soundly asked myself, ‘Why do these countries have to be like this?’ I felt God speak to me, and I felt like He said He made these countries as they are because He wanted people like us to go and share the Gospel whenever and wherever.” (Tyler, 11 years old)

This summer will be our 30th preteen mission trip. We are so excited to see what the Lord will do in Atoka, Oklahoma. We have nine churches taking part in the trip from Colorado, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas. We covet your prayers as these churches prepare. I have created a prayer list below for specific prayer points.
Testimony from the 2012 Mission Trip, Fort Worth, Texas
During our 2012 mission trip testimonial time one evening, a gentleman got up to share. He was from FBC, Granbury. He shared, “When we were at our site today, a lady attended the Bible study with her daughte and granddaughter. Katie was teaching the Bible study. When it came time for the invitation, she asked those who wanted to trust Christ to raise their hand. The mother raised her hand, her daughter raised her hand, and her granddaughter raised her hand. Katie sat down on the curb and led three generations to Christ.” As he spoke, he was crying tears of joy and amazement at what God had done through this 12-year-old girl.
Zambia Training Update
Isaac Mphande (L.I.T. Ministries, Regional Director for Zambia) completed a training. He spent two days teaching leaders how to disciple children there using The Way of the Disciple L.I.T. devotional. Through you gifts, we purchased a projector and printed the needed handbooks and training materials for his leaders there. Isaac will be hosting a training in Katima Sesheke District of Zambia June 3-5. Pray for his safety and for God's blessing on the training efforts there.
We invite you to help us fund the printing of 1,000 devotionals for children in 50+ churches there. We have trained leaders who are ready to start discipling children. They need the tools to get started. For $2.00 per child, we can print a L.I.T. devotional for each child. We need to raise $2,000 to print all the necessary books for the churches there.
Translation of Leadership Training Materials Update
We have completed the following languages: Hindi (India), Tami (India), and French (Africa). Odiva (India), Kirundi (Rwanda), and Swahili (Africa) will be finished shortly. The Lord is on the move, and it is a joy to join Him. When all the work is complete, our handbook will be in ten languages. Praise the Lord! Thank you for your gifts to make this happen.
Distribution of Discipleship Book at Kids Connection Preparatory School
We were able to pay for the printing of 160 devotionals to distribute in Lusaka, Zambia, South Africa through your gifts. We were looking forward to hearing stories of changed lives there.
