When Kids Pray, God Moves

Every year on the mission trip, you never know what will happen or how the Lord will move. During our Fort Worth (Haltom City), Texas, mission trip, we ministered in five apartment complexes. For three days, two of our teams had no children show up. We were ready to move the two teams to a different site, but they prayed about it and felt they should stay where they were. They prayer walked and waited for kids. Then, on Thursday, both sites had children show up. Both teams had the opportunity to lead children to Christ. Praise the Lord! It may seem challenging, but kids can and do listen to the Holy Spirit and His leadership.

You Have to Let Go and Let God by Dr. Clint May

One of the things I have learned in the past 35 years is to let go. If you are a perfectionist, it doesn’t come easy. But how will people learn to lead independently if you don’t release your ministry? One of my greatest joys in ministry is equipping and releasing children, students, and adults to minister. Has it been easy? No, at first, but the Lord has taught me that every person has gifts and value in the body of Christ.

It is not my job to do all the work. My job is to equip others to do the work. Through releasing ministry, we allow fellow believers to discover their gifts and experience the Holy Spirit working through their lives. If you want to experience true joy, train and release people to serve in the church.

Paul makes this clear in Ephesians 4:11-12: “And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.”

This summer will be my 37^th mission trip. I must say that the Fort Worth mission trip was such a blessing to me. I had two leaders who took the lead: Chris (Tiny) Seely and Kelli Statton. What a joy to train and release them to lead! Russ Zacek led our mission trip in Fuquay Varina, North Carolina and did a fantastic job. DeAnne Noyes led her own mission trip in Littleton, Colorado. Mike Lehew is working with more than 500 students who are serving through Mobile Missions Network this summer.  

Praise the Lord! It is their ministry, not mine. I may have had a small part, but the Holy Spirit led them to success. God gave them the vision and took it to a new ministry level. No matter if we are in the states or international, it is our vision to train and release missionaries of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Mobile Missions and L.I.T. by Mike Lehew

MMN was started after a group of 4th/5th/6th graders came to Sapulpa, OK, to share the Gospel and saw the need for ongoing discipleship in our community. That week, these kids led 51 people to the Lord.

Rather than waiting ‘til the next year, we continued the ministry in these communities, and today we are sharing the Gospel in more than 20 different communities in the Tulsa metro area. This summer, we will host about 500 people who will help us take the church to people.
