Kids Making Disciples Who Make Disciples
Kids Making Disciples Who Make Disciples by Liz Mozingo
Four years ago, our family started meeting kids in our neighborhood and then gathering with them for games, snacks, and Bible studies. God provided volunteers and spring and summer mission camps through Mobile Missions Network. We had nine children come to faith, and many others were discipled.
My young daughter, Alex, has helped to disciple two girls who came to faith in the neighborhood ministry, Madilyn and Kierra. God has done a huge work in their lives and has raised them up as leaders. Doing L.I.T. on a weekly basis and at home has grown their relationship with Jesus.
Recently, the girls went with me on our L.I.T. Mission Trip in Tulsa to reach another neighborhood. They prayer walked, door knocked, taught the Word of God, led worship, shared the Gospel, and led children to Christ. Their leadership skills and spiritual gifts shined this week. Their faith has grown so much from their experiences there. I'm grateful to God and grateful for Leaders In Training. Kids do not have a baby Holy Spirit, and they can do everything adults do, and then some.
Fifty Leaders Trained in Tanzania by Paul Mamba
I’ll stand with you to make sure the L.I.T vision and mission reach thousands of boys and girls and bring transformation to this new generation, also change leaders’ perspectives about children’s ministry. So, they will start taking in consideration this generation as many leaders/volunteers will be aware of the treasure and potential God put in this generation. It will work.
Empowering Kids in Odisha, India by Santosh Bardhan
We had a wonderful opportunity to meet all the pastors and leaders who attended our training. We trained them how to work with the children, sharing the Gospel with them and equipping the children to raise them as disciples and leaders for today in the churches so they can do the same. Children who went through the training started sharing the Gospel with other children. Thank you for your prayers and support.
I Have Many Students Living a Life of Obedience to Christ by Russell Zacek
I have many students living a life of obedience to Christ as young adults: I have several former L.I.T.s in ministry, many who have gone to YWAM Kona to pursue missions for their 6-month DTS program, many who are now serving in kidmin at their churches, and most are following God, marrying, having children and raising their children in the church. Several are going into missions long term. I also have some that have become teachers, nurses, advertising/marketing people, blue collar types, etc. One young couple came back to my church (after their family left) and is serving in kids ministry as teachers.
Honduras Missionary Cried Tears of Joy by Sarah Lee
Victor, Joshua, Caleb, and I went on a mission trip to Honduras a year ago. Talking with teachers there, they were hungry and desperately needed resources. We knew L.I.T. would be perfect. I wanted to share that the missionary, Jim, was in tears…tears of joy! Abby and Ana from Vine and Branches Piedras Negras, Mexico, were able to go to Honduras and train the teachers. Rejoicing in God’s provision to help equip and disciple children! God answered a huge prayer. God continues to do great work in these communities, and now they have the tools to equip His followers.
120 Professions of Faith by Dr. Clint May
We praise the Lord for His faithfulness as we wrap up the summer. This summer, there were 118 professions of faith on our three mission trips. One leader was astounded by what he observed. He shared during our testimony time: “Don’t let anyone say you are the church of the future. You are the church TODAY!” He was amazed by what he witnessed as he saw preteens minister in the power of the Holy Spirit. Christ's love and passion flow through their lives and touch those they reach.
As I have shared, the Lord is opening more doors than we can count overseas. Seeing Him take the ministry through incredible leaders and spread His vision worldwide is fantastic. Nevertheless, I have come to realize that kids in the United States today are seriously struggling. George Barna shares, “Currently, less than 1% of early teens have a biblical worldview.” This should alarm us all. We are losing a whole generation. However, Christ is the victor! My prayer is to spend my life being an advocate for kids in the U.S. and worldwide. There is no retirement in the kingdom of God. Retirement starts the day we step into eternity. I covet your prayers for the leadership of the Holy Spirit as we go out and share the vision that “Kids Are The Church Now!”
Blessings,
Dr. Clint May
